Little summer break-ish for me too

I mean there's still laundry and shit

I started writing a hand wringy post justifying taking some time off for the rest of summer and then I’ve received a few “I’m going on summer break, dammit!!” out-of-the-office newsletters so I’m going to skip the bullshit and let you know after today I’m taking off til probably about late August/early September (with some occasional chats and missives to paid subscribers).

I’m also going to take August off recording the “Not Right Now” podcast, which I’m humbled to have heard a lot of nice things about (see these great, funny reviews):

I won’t be doing as much nothing as I would like (although how much nothing is good for me is always tbd.) I hope to jump in the lake a few times, but I will also be:

• Writing some freelance stories for my academic institution clients

• Doing work for Inbox Collective, where I’m managing editor and contributor, writing/reporting/editing stuff about newsletters.

• Writing, editing and sending out Raising Evanston, a parenting newsletter I now edit for the local Evanston RoundTable. If you know people in/from/moving to Evanston who have kids, let them know about it!

• Kid things that include but aren’t limited to:

  • Summer baseball (which has 🏄whatever🤙 vibes that I’m fine with)

  • Day camp (see our chat here for what we’re doing for camp lunches)

  • Also, a week of sleepaway camp and a few days of ultimate frisbee morning camp
