This is such a good conversation even if it did open up All My Feelings about having an almost-9-year-old who still cannot ride a bike. (We also did not get the balance bike memo and now sheโ€™s too tall? Not the point! More of this introspection and reflection from dads pls!)

Ok I know I'm three years late to this convo, but Virginia, just wanted to say, SAME. Parent of a very anxious 11 year old who pretty much refuses to learn, and a 9 year old who also doesn't bike, mostly because we always forget about it and we feel guilty. So yes: All The Feelings.

This was such a great interview, thank you! I ordered his book a few days ago - ostensibly for my husband for his birthday, but really for me, too, so now I'm even more excited to read it. "Any philosophy I have is overridden by my other philosophy of not spending money on anything, ever" made me laugh aloud - even again, just now, when typing it!
